The Kerala State Human Rights Commission has asked the state government to pay an interim compensation of Rs 2 lakhs to the parents of a boy who lost 75 per cent of his penis after a botched circumcision when he was just 23 days old.

According to the parents’ complaint, the circumcision procedure was conducted at a private hospital in Malappuram. The person who did the circumcision was said to have an MBBS Degree and three years of medical experience.
