AJ Styles became a two-time WWE Champion at yesterday’s SmackDown tapings in Manchester, England.
Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to win the title in the main event, getting the clean win with the Phenomenal Forearm. It was announced after the match that Styles would be taking Mahal’s place in the non-title Universal Champion vs. WWE Champion match against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
Also on SmackDown, The Usos retained their titles over Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable by countout, Rusev was denied a spot on SmackDown’s Survivor Series team after losing to Randy Orton, and Becky Lynch faced James Ellsworth in a “battle of the sexes.”
