As noted, Pat McAfee, a broadcast team member and former NFL all-pro punter, announced earlier this week that he has signed a multi-year contract with WWE. WWE would later confirm the news with a statement released on their official website.
The statement included comments from veteran WWE announcer Michael Cole about McAfee signing with WWE.
“The future’s bright,” said Cole. “It’s not just going to be Kickoff Shows anymore for you. You’ve got a lot of stuff coming down the pipe, I hope.”
Additionally, McAfee took to social media to comment on the news himself.
“Good morning beautiful people,” wrote McAfee via his official Twitter page on Thursday. “Today’s a pretty massive day for me. I can officially say I’m a [WWE] employee. A real lifelong dream coming true thanks to [Michael Cole] and [Triple H].. This opportunity means the world to me. Let’s. Go.”
On Friday, WWE COO Paul “Triple H” Levesque also took to social media to comment on McAfee joining the fold in WWE.
