After making his WWE return in a brief cameo in the front row of the NXT TakeOver: Orlando live special on the WWE Network this past Saturday, former TNA World Champion Drew Galloway, who is once again using his WWE ring name — Drew McIntyre — made his actual NXT debut at tonight’s set of television tapings at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
At the tapings tonight, which will cover all of the television episodes for the brand throughout the month of April and into the next NXT TakeOver: Chicago special scheduled to go down at AllState Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, McIntyre made his official in-ring return for WWE.
In singles action, McIntyre defeated Oney Lorcan via pinfall, putting him away with his Claymore Kick. McIntyre came out to what was described by a fan in attendance at Full Sail University this evening as “generic rock and roll music.”
Following his victory in his in-ring comeback and official NXT debut, the former WWE Superstar once known as “The Chosen One” cut a quick promo declaring the NXT brand as the place he wants to be, backing up the tag-line used by Triple H in the tweet he posted referencing McIntyre’s cameo at the TakeOver: Orlando special over the weekend. The formber 3MB member then made it clear that his ultimate goal is to win the NXT World Championship.
