Rush defeated Matt Taven to become the new ROH World Champion tonight at Ring of Honor’s annual Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.

Rush, 30, has been wrestling for more than 10 years in Mexico, and was a top star in CMLL for quite some time before signing with ROH in late 2018. He is also one of the co-founders of the Los Ingobernables faction, alongside La Sombra (WWE’s Andrade) later brought back to Japan and popularized by Tetsuya Naito.

This is Rush’s first title with Ring of Honor, and even more impressively he pinned the former champion clean in the middle of the ring, following an incredibly hard-fought match. He is also a former CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion, and a two-time CMLL World Tag Team Champion.
