Based on the quality of work that Jerry Lawler has been producing lately, there are a lot of people backstage who feel that he should be given a commentating role on either Raw or Smackdown. However, backstage reports indicate that Vince McMahon feels hesitant to have Lawler play a central role due to his advancing age. Recently, JBL stepped down as a color commentator for Smackdown, but the role was given to Corey Graves. It remains to be seen what new role will be given to Lawler.
