Conde Nast is about to go edgy. The publisher of some of world’s most coveted magazines, such as Vogue, Tatler and Vanity Fair, is adding a directional new magazine to its portfolio, due to launch next March.

The twice-yearly style publication will see ex Pop and The Face editor Katie Grand as its editor-in-chief.

According to reports, the magazine will be a bespoke size “slightly larger than most monthlies” with experimental and directional content, something Grand is no stranger to delivering.

“It is a new departure for Condé Nast UK to publish an edgy, high-end style title in this sector, and in Katie Grand we have the perfect editor who brings the perfect team,” said Condé Nast managing director Nicholas Coleridge, confirming a report in the Observer.

Grand made her name working on the launch of Dazed & Confused, and later moved to The Face where she remained until 2001. She launched the fashion and art magazine Pop in 2000 while still at The Face and in 2001 she left to work full-time on Pop, owned by Bauer, where she has worked until two weeks ago, said the newspaper.

Said Grand: “I’m really looking forward to building up a new magazine from scratch again – a fresh start is always fun, and we have lots of ideas we can’t wait to start working on.And it’s really exciting to be working with Condé Nast, who publish some of the most important fashion magazines in the world.”
