One of the most unlikely signees in the history of WWE is easily James Ellsworth. After becoming surprisingly beloved by WWE audiences during his rare onscreen appearances, the company signed him to a full time contract. After joining the WWE roster officially, Ellsworth served as a manager for Carmella before he was released in November of 2017. Ellsworth has remained popular on the independent wrestling circuit due to his intergender wrestling, but a new report from PWInsider claims that Ellsworth is currently scheduled to appear at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view this Sunday. Given that Asuka will face Carmella for the Smackdown Women’s Championship during the show, it seems likely that Ellsworth could her her retain the title during that match.
Brock Lesnar has already shattered plenty of records during his long but divisive reign as the Universal Champion. Despite his limited WWE schedule and few title defenses, Lesnar surpassed the record for the longest reigning Universal Champion a long time ago. The former UFC star has also just managed to break another record. Lesnar has now been champion for 435 days, officially breaking the 434 day record that CM Punk had during his WWE Championship run from 2011-2013. Prior to Lesnar breaking the record, CM Punk’s world title run had been the longest WWE world title reign in modern history. As of right now, there is no telling when Lesnar’s Universal Championship reign may end.
Ed Leslie has been known by several names during his professional wrestling career, but he is mostly remembered for competing as Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake during his WWF run. Beefcake has been working hard on an autobiography that will focus on his life and time in the wrestling business, but he recently took to Twitter to update fans on his health. After informing fans earlier this week that he needed surgery on his knee, and that he had set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for the medical expenses, the former WWE and WCW competitor discussed his surgery and thanked the fans for supporting him. He also stated that he will be meeting with Diamond Dallas Page to try DDP Yoga after he has finished recovering.
