United States President, Donald Trump’s ‘zero tolerance’ approach towards undocumented immigrants is not hidden from the world. Following his footsteps, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed that at least 42 Indians were detained at Otero County Detention Centre in New Mexico for trying to illegally enter its borders.
The incident caught Indian officials’ attention after a number of Indian immigrants were denied entry into the US earlier this week. Undocumented migrants were liable to be charged with criminal offences, announced Attorney General, Jeff Sessions in May. The decision was rebuked by authorities and general public all around the world.
