It was originally reported earlier this year that Henry was being considered to join the Hall of Fame Class in WWE this year. Henry stated that he believed that his in-ring career was not over, but a leaked photo from this year’s WrestleMania magazine revealed tha “The World’s Strongest Man” will indeed be joining the Hall of Fame this year after all. One day later, WWE announced that Mark Henry will definitely be inducted into the Hall of Fame after spending nearly two decades with the company.

Earlier today, WWE and USA Today revealed that Henry is the newest member of the WWE Hall of Fame. Henry has achieved a lot during his career in sports entertainmen, which has been carrying on for over twenty years now. After appearing in the 1992 Summer Olympics, he managed to win gold, silver, and bronze medals in the Pan-American games in 1993. He then competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics before joining WWE later that year. Henry has continued to compete in WWE ever since and has accomplished numerous accolades. Some of what is considered to be Mark Henry’s greatest work in WWE came during the final stages of his career.
Mark Henry has competed against The Undertaker at WrestleMania, won numerous championships, and has had some memorable matches in the past. However, his “Hall of Pain” run in 2011 saw him become the World Heavyweight Champion for the first and only time in his WWE career. Henry’s false retirement angle featuring John Cena back on Raw in 2014 has also been praised as one of the most entertaining segments in the history of the show. Henry continues to work as a talent scout in WWE today and he has been credited for scouting the likes of Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, and Apollo. Henry will be joining Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz, Ivory, Jeff Jarrett, Hillbilly Jim, Warrior Award recipient Jarrius “JJ” Robertson, and Kid Rock in the Class of the 2018.
