One possible reason for this is WWE securing the services of both Cain Velasquez and Tyson Fury, rendering Taker and Goldberg as unnecessary from an attractions perspective.
— As has been noted before, both of these wrestlers as well as John Cena are still expected to be used by WWE moving forward but only in an “as needed” basis. Goldberg for one has a big supporter in Paul Heyman, who reportedly envisions using him a couple of times per year.
