Fresh off of his WrestleMania 35 appearance, Saturday Night Live (SNL) Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost was the special guest on actor/comedian and fellow SNL alum Kevin Nealon’s Hiking With Kevin video podcast.
During the episode, Nealon asked Jost about how the WWE appearances for he and his SNL Weekend Update co-host Michael Che came about.
“It happened because Che is a really die-hard WWE fan, and I was growing up, it was a huge thing for my brother and I,” said Jost. “Che had gone to a couple events before and they were like, ‘You guys should come and do something,’ which they never do.”
Jost continued, pointing out what an honor it was to he and Che before putting over the traveling phenomenon that is World Wrestling Entertainment.
“It was a huge honor, it was really cool,” said Jost. “It’s weirdly like SNL, but slightly more physical.”
He continued, “It’s all live, so they all are super professional. They’re on the road … it’s the biggest traveling show in the world. They’re on the road like 300 days a year.”
