Apparently WWE was aware of Roman Reigns’ Wellness Policy violation quite a while before they made the news public on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, WWE knew about Reigns’ Wellness Policy days before they announced his suspension to the public. Meltzer noted that WWE was aware of Reigns’ violation before he competed at Sunday’s WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view.
As noted yesterday, WWE Battleground features a triple-threat main event for the WWE World Heavyweight title as Dean Ambrose defends against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Because the date of the pay-per-view is past Reigns’ 30-day suspension period, it was believed that the match could stay in tact.
Coming out of Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown television taping, WWE was still advertising the triple-threat main event for WWE Battleground, so it’s still considered likely that the match will take place as planned.
