class=”article_teaser__2t5do”>In the first Premier League game since the sacking of Frank Lampard as manager, we are backing the Blues to record a win against struggling opposition

Chelsea welcome Wolves to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening as they look to end what has been a disappointing run of form in the Premier League.

The Blues have won just two of their last eight league matches and Monday saw them part ways with manager Frank Lampard  after 18 months in charge.

Wolves are also on a poor run, with the Black Country outfit winless in their last six matches in the English top-flight and only able to edge past Chorley 1-0 in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Chelsea vs Wolves Latest Odds

Wolves’ last Premier League victory came on December 15 when they beat Chelsea 2-1 at Molineux and another win for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side is priced at 17/4 (5.25) .

The west Londoners, for their part, can be backed at 61/100 (1.61) with the draw offered at 16/5 (4.20) .

Chelsea vs Wolves Team News

Chelsea’s only real injury concern is N’Golo Kante, who has missed the last three weeks with a thigh injury and is unlikely to recover in time.

The visitors are set to be without Daniel Podence, Raul Jimenez, Jonny and Fernando Marcal, whilst new signing Willian Jose will have to wait for his debut with paperwork delaying his arrival in England.

Chelsea vs Wolves Preview

Chelse have won four league matches at Stamford Bridge this season, with those victories coming against West Ham, Crystal Palace, Leeds United and Sheffield United.

With the exception of the Hammers, all of those sides are in the bottom half of the table and they should have enough to beat a Wolves side who have really lost their way since Jimenez’s skull injury in November.

Indeed, they have lost away to Liverpool, Manchester United, Leicester City and West Ham this season and their previous visit to Stamford Bridge saw them go down 2-0 in July.

Chelsea vs Wolves Tips and Predictions

The hosts to win and score over 1.5 goals is priced at evens (2.00) and looks like a good way to get the Blues onside, with only one of Chelsea’s last 13 home league wins coming by a 1-0 scoreline.
